Bubblegrunge

In the mid-1990s, rock critics labeled a type of music “bubblegrunge” because it was a poppier ("bubblegum") version of grunge, which had dominated the alternative music scene in the early 1990s. Bands like Collective Soul, Bush, Third Eye Blind, and Matchbox Twenty were all part of this genre.
