Minnesang

Minnesang is a genre of German lyric poetry that emerged in the 12th century. It was performed by troubadours and minstrels who sang about courtly love, chivalry, and nature. The songs were usually accompanied by a lute or harp and were sung in Middle High German. Minnesang was popular among the aristocracy and influenced the development of German literature.
