A fusion of punkrock and dub music, dub punk features heavy basslines, distorted guitar riffs, and politically charged lyrics. The genre emerged in the late 1970s and gained popularity in the UK during the 1980s. Dub punk bands often incorporate elements of ska, reggae, and dub into their sound.
