Chicago soul is a genre of music that emerged in the 1950s and 1960s from the Chicago music scene. It is characterized by its soulful vocals, horn sections, and rhythm and blues influences. Chicago soul was a major influence on the development of soul music, and produced some of the biggest names in the genre, including Curtis Mayfield, Otis Clay, and The Impressions.
